Gridlife Season Opener in South Carolina
This past weekend highlighted just how challenging true innovation can be, as the team pushed the limits of the A90 "Easy Button" Supra by becoming the first to integrate a Haltech system alongside a CAN-based transmission control unit, a process that quickly revealed unexpected hurdles—most notably with a motorsports ABS system from Delta, where differences in wheel speed sensors forced the team to run mismatched fronts and non-functioning rears, ultimately resulting in no ABS for the weekend; at the same time, the car features a fully custom turbo setup using a modified B58 non-TU Walton Motorsports manifold and downpipe adapted to fit the A90 platform, paired with added exhaust manifold pressure and EGT sensors and a G35 turbo, all of which performed reliably despite the fabrication involved, while months of development with Fortune Auto led to the creation of a true one-piece coilover system—something not currently available for the A90—with a street version expected soon alongside other undisclosed parts, and fueling was handled by a high-capacity system from Radium Engineering capable of supporting 1600+ horsepower, featuring multiple pumps where backups can be instantly activated at the push of a button without needing to service the tank, proving to be extremely effective throughout the weekend; overall, the experience underscored the reality of building something entirely new, where setbacks like ABS failure and custom integration challenges are part of the process, but each obstacle overcome moves the platform forward. We will see you all at Gridlife Atlanta!
